Musaj te Dzav / I have to leave /Je dois partir
The three skirts in this exhibition are from Musaj te Dzav/ I Have to Leave, a project initiated by artists Hedina Tahirovic Sijercic and Lynn Hutchinson Lee of chirikli collective. Musaj te Dzav is based on forced migration of the Romani people, following a historical trajectory that ends in present-day Canada.
The project artists use hand-made skirts, written word and photographs to articulate the human rights issues of Roma today.
