International Roma Day: Nothing About Us Without Us

To mark International Romani Day, Romanipe invites you to Nothing About Us Without Us, a conference that will focus on Romani subjugation, oppression, and colonization. This conference, bringing together Roma activists and researchers from North America will highlight the significance of a “nothing about us without us” movement, in support of the human rights of Romani peoples worldwide.

Join us on on 7 April 2017, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Concordia University for a discussion about Roma with Roma with: 

– Ronald Lee, Author, translator, lecturer and Co-Founder Roma Community Centre

– Nazik Deniz, Founder of the World Romani Dialect Interpreters’ Bureau

– Dafina Savic, Founder and Executive Director of Romanipe Montreal

Thank you to all those who came out last night. The event was a true success. Raising an amount of 600$. Funds raised will go towards helping families currently fighting against deportation.

A big thank you also goes out to all the musicians, artists and who generously lent us their time and talent!

Merci à tous ceux qui étaient présents hier soir. L’évènement a été un réel succès. Nous avons amassé un montant net de 600$. Les fonds amassés serviront à supporter les familles qui font présentement faces la déportation.

Rock ‘n’ Roma Against Deportations

Le 3 février prochain, Solidarité Sans Frontière en collaboration avec Romanipe organise un concert bénéfice afin de supporter les nombreuses familles Roms faisant présentement face à la déportation. 

Joignez-vous à nous pour supporter cette cause au son de la musique de Boris Bartula des Gitans de Sarajevo, Shukar Roma, Marijan Zivkovic’s Band, et DJ Touski.

On February 3rd, Solidarity Across Borders in Collaboration with Romanipe is hosting a benefit concert to support the many Roma families in Montreal who are currently fighting deportation from Canada. 

With Music from Boris Bartula from Gitans de Sarajevo, Shukar Roma, Marijan Zivkovic’s Band, and DJ Touski, the evening promises to be a memorable one.
